USB does not charge?

With my OEM apple iphone cable and the usb in the center console, my phone does not charge. Is this normal?

I have a 2011, not a 2012 like yours, and my cable is in the glovebox, but mine charges my iPhone.

My cable has an iPhone and an AUX headphone jack, it looks like this:

There's an actual USB port in the center console of the 2012's. Mine does not charge as well. Oh well, guess the car charger will have to suffice.

Mine is Nokia N8 , only way to get it to charge thru center console sockets is I plug my Nokia's usb cable into the car's usb socket , direct plug in .
I didn't use MB's cables when I tackled that job . It was just for try

I also spot that array of tracks changed all the way when using that method above , that was different than bluetooth audio tracklisting as well
