E550 4 matic bi turbo tuned vs E63 NA
Last night I ran a E550 Bi Turbo Renntech tuned 4 matic at the drag strip. Pulled a 12.5 qtr mi. At 111.4 mph. This is basically as fast as the E 63 NA. I am now stealth, looking for Camaros and Mustangs.

The Camaro and Mustang owners will still laugh at you for having to spend as much as you did just to beat a bunch of Camaros and Mustangs.

For one, buying the E 550 was by choice, and was way more expensive then a plastic Camaro or Mustang to start with. I bought this car because I really wanted a AMG 4 wheel drive car in N. OH. for winter. It was this or an AudiRS 6. The tune was cheap if you calculate by $/HP.

I think just the opposite, they won't beleive that a 4 door luxury car, with class, just smoked them. I wouldn't be caught dead in either of those american made junkers, no matter how much power there making... Have an accident once and see who will be laughing.

It's all power to weight. When I was racing in an amateur series, they used to pit 135 horsepower race cars against stock Ferraris, Vipers, and other SRT vehicles as demonstrations. The race cars weighed about 1200 lbs and would easily keep pace with the street cars except on tracks with extra long straights (horsepower and aerodynamics are king on long straights). People with bright shiny Ferraris (one that cost $500,000 in particular) would be disgusted a rickety bucket of bolts could be just as fast.
Formula 1 drivers are often trained on karts that would blow away nearly every street car. Kimi Raikkonen in particular had raced a car something like only 20 times before his first F1 race, but he had raced karts since he was 10 or something. I just did a brief search, but here is a kart that is purported to beat many race cars. From the stats it would seem to do laps around an E63, and it costs $20k and requires no mods. It has less than 100 horsepower. It does need a driver with large attachments, as David Hobbs might say.

Renntech , web site has the info, price $2700 . Dealer net work across USA. 530 Hp / 606TQ. Pricey but cheap , when compared to other mods to achieve this HP gains.

Can I assume that any warranty coverage is now at risk? FYI, I did a near complete Kleeman mod on my 2001 e55 in 2006 to up the hp to 525 from 350. That was an extensive mod that included headers, an LSD(not the Grateful Dead kind!!) and a compressor. That mod cost over $20,000!! Regards. Ned.
