That's a bit much , looking forward to seeing the great shots of that black beauty soon
Well, may be you don't buy a new set of wheels if you trade your car for W221

Sorry to hear about this, but glad all turned out ok. I know you pooh-poohed blind spot assist, but that's what it was made for! Those few times when your attention is not 100% where it should be or when the visual cues are perhaps misleading at a quick glance. Racers often call this the "red mist" - when you are so focused on beating the other guy that you fail to see other things that are going on around you and do something uncharacteristic.

$4300 and their not replacing any metal? That sounds high by like double. If I were seriously thinking about trading it in, I would be getting at least another estimate.....or two.

they're 'MB certified' too which not many places around here can say.....
I do know that I will be looking over that ****** with great care for that price.......but I guess it could be high; you're right.....
they came highly recomended....
and plus I'm trying to press them with a time table of the end of the month when I need to go and press my luck on crashing it some more when we go to the beach for a few dayswith my coffin roof box!

Hype - sorry to hear about this and sounds like the dude was an A$$ for not giving you the room. Maybe you need to make your next investment on a good tune for that V8 instead of another set of wheels. 50 more pony's might have gotten you out of that mess.

Uhhh, no. Hype said it was Duke Electric truck. Probably didn't even see him and given the point of impact, it is unlikely that 50 ponies would have helped. 50 hp less would have resolved the issue though.

yeah, I hoping those cats will give me the 10% off for the MB Club Member thing.....
I figure if they're certified, and do warranty work, (like my roof spoiler is being done too, they painted it and were going to put it on anyway and this happened)
so why not honor the MB Club of America right??

Sorry about your accident.
I never take my cars to dealers for body work. Most just take them to a body shop and charge you for doing it. Just find out the name of a good body shop or two. Maybe look for one that has several M-B's, Lexus', BMW's, etc. in lot.
Many years ago, I knocked the mirror off my '96 Ford Taurus. Went to a junk yard and ordered a used one. Guaranteed that all the electrics inside would work. Had to get a body shop to repaint it, but the match was perfect. Installed it myself and never had any problems with it.
While insurance rate may not go up, may lose your no claims in X years discount.
This stuff happens more and more and will continue to as less money is spent on roads and more cars use them.

Look at the pictures - it isn't just the mirror and he has to file a claim anyway because Duke power will want their truck fixed too.

the doors are not too bad, but there is a pretty deep scratch on the my drivers door.....but the scuffs pretty much go the length of the car....
hopefully when they start in on it it won't be as bad....
and it is just an estimate......but I guess it's rare that estimates end up beng less than
quoted, more so I'd guess with this Marque.....
thanx for all the commets feller's

I DO read the posts!
[QUOTE=CEB;5334817]I don't think you actually read posts - you just add random thoughts that are remotely connected.
Look at the pictures - it isn't just the mirror and he has to file a claim anyway because Duke power will want their truck fixed too.
I DO read the posts, but apparently you don't - or either don't understand them. He asked for comments and I gave him some if he was looking to save on some of the parts or the costs. His choice, especially if using an independent garage. BTW, I didn't miss seeing the doors.
Also, I never said not to file a claim. With the damage to the doors, I would assume he would want to file one.
