New E350 strange scratching noise
I took delivery of the new E350 Luxury 4matic in June, all is good except that noticable noise (driver side from outside) started a few days ago. Sounds like scratching noise from tires, but dealer lifted the car and couldn't find anything abnormal. Only occurs when Drive Forward. No noise when back-up. The sound sample is below:
I will bring the car to dealer to check again in a few days. But I believe that some members here are very hands-on and knowledgable, so maybe I can have some idea about the noise. Nothing stick to the tires, and doesn't look like seat-belt noise.
Thanks a lot for advice.

Have you checked your tires carefully? I had a bolt in mine and yes it held air.
If you have a floor jack lift the car one corner at a time and rotate the tires. See if you can isolate the noise to a corner.
Good Luck!

The forward vs backup might be clue. My wife's C did something similar. Turns out a bit of the undercarriage had come loose. The wind from going forward pushed that bit onto the tire causing a rubbing sound. When the car was stationary or in reverse, the bit would stay in its proper place and there was no sound. Turning going forward made the sound worse.
