2012+ E550 Performance upgrades
I sold my 2007 E63 and only have my Jaguar XFR and would like to trade up again but this time to the new BiTurbo 2012+ E550 4Matic.
I have some questions about these new setups and maybe some of you know the answers.
I want to have my tuner flash the ECU and I compared his data vs all the others like Renntech, OE, Eurocharged and he claims more than all of them.
See below:
( Recently, we just finished finalizing data for the all new 4.6L V8 bi-turbo engine that resides in the ML, E, S, CL, CLS, and SL class of the Mercedes Benz lineup. After perfecting the software for the 2012+ 63 AMG’s early last year (January 2011), we believed the 550′s could benefit instead of gaining the 60hp 80lbs tq we originally achieved. The end result you might ask…well astonishing to say the least. Through reprogramming of the ECU, we take nearly every 550 class Mercedes to 515hp & 619lbs tq, and it doesn’t stop there. Along with a tune, all hesitation/flatspots are removed, speed limiter is eliminated, volume is raised in 2nd and 3rd gear, and shifting is smoother all while increasing fuel economy. Gains: ML550, CLS550, E550 – 113hp & 176lbs tq S550, SL550, CL550 – 86hp & 103lbs tq ) 550 Twin Turbo = $1,500
1 of my questions do any of the tuners I mentioned also tune the TCU at all? I want to get the 4Matic an d not the RWD and want to know is there any other differences as well.
Next I want to see what has or could be done in other areas to free up a bit more bottled up power.
What can be done with the intake so far or just toss in some filters like BMC like other models prior?
Any tricks for the exhaust or just replace the resonators with a X-Pipe and be done with it?
I want to retain the sleeper look and this E550 may achieve just that.
I probably would keep using the Varex mufflers as they are the sweetest thing since sliced bread I have found so far for controlling the sound level.
And lastly how would warranty be handled with just ECU tune? Can you just flash it back and not be seen or is it like GM and other cars where it says how many flashes were done and you get screwed? I want to keep it simple, under warranty, and still be a sleeper

I wonder what is different from ML550, CLS550, E550 and the S550, SL550, CL550 as the tunes have 2 different gains for the 2 different groups?
I dont want the 2011 and prior, I want the BiTurbo motor of course.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG

I was just checking dragtimes.com to see if any have run down the track with the tune but did not find any results on a tuned 2012 E550. I'm interested in seeing some results other than a dyno.
Tjdehya: I am not looking for much, just a solid tune, and some breathing mods like intake/exhaust.
hyperion667: Here is a few pix of my Jaguar XFR aka the "Draguar".

The car is fast, I only got 1 pass with it and snatched a record with it:
I hope to sell it to get a new E550, anyone want the worlds fastest Jaguar? still under dealer warranty and all since I used OEM parts from the deale to mod it.
I ran 1/4 mile 12.5 sec. 113mph. The tune is definitely worth doing.
Is there a way to turn off traction control on the 4matics?
I was thinking the E550 tuned would spank my Jag , but it is not looking that way just yet? My 0-60 is 3.9 on the street as per the V-Box, I would think the MB 4 Matic is def better than my suck *** RWD.

I was expecting the times of a 100% Stock E63.
