Date of Factory Switchover from 2013 to 2014??
Need some help here.
I need to custom order a E350 Sportwagon for the wife. My dealer could not assure me which model year I would end up with if I ordered now. We actually do not care which year we get. BUT, we do care about getting the Driver Assistance Package and the Keyless - in the press release promoting the 2014 they say that these features will be late availability. Here is how they put it "The Driver Assistance package and KEYLESS-GO package will be available shortly after launch."
1. Does anyone know when the factory actually switches over?
2. Is it possible to get an order in for a 2013? and how can I be assured I will get a 2013 with the options we want and not an early release 2014 that does not???

Actually, the only way to protect yourself is to order keyless go as a specific feature. Mercedes reserves the right to change the specs on a car and they could decide to change P2 (for your build) to not include keyless go. However, if you order keyless go, then you can refuse the car when it arrives because it was not built to the specs you ordered.
