looking at getting a 2010 E350
my mom is in need of a newer vehicle and I thought the e350 would be a great car for her. Decided to go against buying new since it will be a facelifted soon as well as in a few years, we can trade it in for a refreshed E
anyways, there is a car i like and has all the right options.... however when I look at the car proof, i saw that it had an insurance claim of 0 dollars with no reported damages. I asked my sales guy who seems like a straight shooter (dont they all?
) and he gave a reply saying that with some people when driving newish cars they might have bumped something or suffered an act of vandalism, or something minor along those lines, they may have contacted their insurance as a protective measure thus creating this empty 0 dollar claim.
thoughts on this? he said he went to take a look at the car again and it is fine... feels confident about it and is a car he would sell to his own family.
as a side note, the car is still under warranty and as usual, i will be buying ELW.
and while I have your attention, i must say the e class is quite nice. Always liked it but never really thought too much about it till now. is there anything I should look out for in particular for this model year?
btw it has the premium pack so keyless go, nav etc... also has tech pack that gives the lane assist... imo pretty loaded. .... and it really is funny... buying a car for myself or helping someone else look for one... the process is always quite fun![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
thanks in advance

I am in the same boat as you with a 2010/2011 E350. I would love one right now as I test drove another one today but like Nuru said in the spring the deals are better. I love cars and looking for cars online and walking the lots but I hate the buying process. Can very stressful but I love getting a new car when the deal is all done. Weird to understand
Good luck with the purchase. The W212 is really a wonderful car.

I am looking to trade-in my 2010 for a 2012 or 2013 loaner/program car in April. I want to get one with P2 or at least HID lights and folding rear seats, 11 - 15k miles. The better mpg and lighting is worth it for me.

I had a 2010 then a 2011. As odd as it is to say, they both had these weird little nuances that had their merits. On a grander scale, I'd say the 2011 is a better bet in terms of reliability, but M-B got that aspect of the W212 so right from the beginning, IMO there's no real shortfall in getting a 2010 model. Just make sure you get a LATE build, as early builds had a lot of issues that were mostly Recall-Bulletin resolved.

If you are talking about Carfax report, not everything shows up on that. Had cars in past where I hit something or something other than a car hit me. My insurance paid both times and never showed up on Carfax. No police reports.
I don't think there would be a reported incident if something hadn't happened.
If for your mother, need to determine Sports vs. Luxury version. The Luxury has more comfortable ride if that is important.
Have a 2010 with Oct. '09 build date and had a couple of issues, but all resolved.

Interesting, I just heard from a different thread that MB was stopping production of the 2013s to get things going on the 2014s like now. Has anyone recently placed an order for a 2013?

Add to this fact that many of the W212's are leased and many appear to be coming off lease now there appears to be an ever increasing supply on the used market. I think that the W212 was a good seller in spite of the poor economy at the time.
