Well, I'll make my first post here and ask the group's opinion. Coming from a world of MINI Coopers, MB prices are foreign to me. Based on the KBB, this black CPO 350 4Matic with 8700 miles should be 50K. Dealer is asking a touch over 49. Carfax is clean with 1 owner. I'm ready to pull the trigger and actually provide my kid with a door to use instead of climbing over our front seat.

What say you, seasoned ones?

What's MSRP on it? Know that M-B pushes ridiculous discounts on the W212's, to the point where members here have posted getting 20+% off of MSRP (New cars).

My 2011 E350 had a $58,xxxK MSRP and I got it for $48xxxK brand new.

You might have missed the big discount-period being right after the Holidays, but the deals on these cars are usually very aggressive. I'd assume that for $49K and change you should maybe be able to score a brand new one.

Ah. That's a pretty expensive/well equipped E350 compared to how most are equipped on lots (though unfortunately no P2). I'm assuming some of the premium comes from whatever is in the "special order charge"?

I'd call some dealers and barter with them on similarly priced new cars, therefore getting a better idea as to how good a deal it may or may not be. You'd be surprised at how low people have gotten these cars discounted to (New). Though, it's time and area specific, so maybe it doesn't apply currently.

Thanks for the insight. I must say, I have been quite taken by the feel and comfort of the car. Especially the seat bolsters that "grab" you as you hit a turn. Somebody should have warned me about that before the first test drive - it would have prevented an embarrassing yelp from me as we went up an on-ramp.

It is very, very different from my beloved MINI, I'll tell you that.

Autotrader has about 35 2012 e350 4matics...all over the US....ranging from $36K to $55K. All low mileage but not as feature rich as your example. Going from a MINI you'll still be happy with how the Sport package E350 handles and drives. I picked up mine two months ago after several months of looking and getting to understand the used market pricing. I think you can do better with price but sometimes it doesn't matter a few $K when you like the car

The "special order charge" is for the chestnut brown leather seats, I believe. After looking on the MB site and trying to build my own, I noticed "Chestnut" wasn't an option, but then looked here and found it was one of the "special options" you could get but wasn't listed on the MB site.

No prob. Oh yeah, those seats are awesome. I had them on my '06 E-Class and have missed them ever since. They're kind of gimmicky in the sense that I found the bolsters to not be large enough to truly do what they intend to all that well, but they do kinda work and are certainly better than nothing, and they sure are cool.

You'll love the comfort and solidity of the car. That's an awesome dichotomy, a Mini and an E-Class. I hope you're keeping both as that would be an awesome fleet. When I was in Europe everyone had those little Fiats, including my Cousin who wheeled me around. I've always hated those little cars but ever since then I kinda would like one of those little things as a car on the side. It's a great taste of two polar opposite worlds to go from a little "go kart" into a big comfy Luxury Sedan.

I believe there is no lane guidance feature on 2011 and earlier, only 2012 and above. It really is a good safety feature.

I have a 2010 E350 with the drivers assist package - lane tracking blind spot and distronic cruise control. In 2011 they introduced active lane tracking and active blind spot assist where the car will apply the brakes to one side to help "guide" the driver out of a bad situation. Not sure how well it works though.
