Lowering Springs + Stock Shocks... How are they holding up?
I'm looking into purchasing a set of H&R Springs for my 2013 Sport E350. I've had coilovers on my previous cars when doing suspension upgrades, but I feel like I don't want too much of an aggressive ride with this car and would like to clear some of the wheel gap.
My questions goes out to those who've put on some lowering springs, yet kept the stock shocks. How are they holding up over time? Most shocks tend to go out with lowering springs after a couple years. I'll be putting on a set of 19" iForged VIP Triumph wheels after lowering the car. I just want to see if the springs are going to be able to hold up and if I should be expecting to do a shock/strut upgrade later down the line also.

Looks like it's been another 9 months since this post. Any feedback from folks who have lowered their cars with just springs?
Past experience says it will cut the life of the struts/shocks in half but want to hear if anyone has real data on the w212.

Regardless of what vehicle, when you replace with aftermarket springs the stock shocks will wear out....fast. I've had this happen to me twice on a couple of my bimmers in the past. Always good to get a nice set of aftermarket shocks to compliment the aftermarket springs and install at the same time. Plus if you decide to put your stock springs back later on (or sell it) the stock shocks are still fully usable.

Funny, I want to do the reverse operation. I have the stock sport suspension and find it too harsh on the crappy roads where I live. I'm looking to swap for the taller oem springs or a good aftermarket spring for a softer ride. Does anyone know if the stock shocks have a rebound adjustment?
