Proud new E350 Bluetec owner here.
Hi all. I found a great 2011 E350 Bluetec locally and grabbed it before someone else got it! Seriously, I almost missed out on it by 1 day, because I was traveling for work. Luckily that guy fell through in financing, so I swooped in!
The car is just loaded, P2 package, comfort / elegance edition, parktronic, split folding seats, wood / leather steering wheel, 115V ac outlet, decklid spoiler, ventilated seats (love these!), and driver assistance package. Iridium Silver paint, with Ash Grey leather. Not the most inventive color combo, but it's attractive and won't get hot in the summer.
So far, I think Distronic+ is the most amazing thing ever. The car nearly drives itself! Driving from Burbank to Costa Mesa on Friday at 5pm in stop and go LA traffic, my nervousness level was vastly lower than it would have been without Distronic! And the Diesel engine got 34MPG by the (optimistic, I've heard) trip computer.
BTW, I came from a 2006 BMW 330I with a stick shift. That was a very responsive, zippy little sporty car. The Mercedes is a way different beast. I know it's not as outright quick to 60mph as the 330i, but I really don't find it lacking. The low revving, monster torque of this engine just suits the luxurious nature of the car. I won't say I'm a convert, but I've definitely never been as instantly satisfied with a vehicle purchase.

Looks identical to mine! Seldom use mine around home preferring to use only for longer distances. For the first year my mileage was consistently 39+. I was forced to use it recently for about a week while I was painting my other Benz and the mileage dropped to 37mpg. The fuel use is phenomenal and it certainly doesn't lack power. I'll be getting rid of mine in June and swapping for a GLK250 BlueTec, the SUV being a better fit for my lifestyle, and I'm already regretting the loss of this one.

Your fuel mileage will improve. With all my diesels, I found that the first bump (1-2 mpg) accurss between 10 and 15K miles. another bump around 30k and another bump around 55-60k. Diesels take forever to fully break in. I hope you enjoy your E350 Bluetec as much as I enjoyed mine.
