headlamp issue...

hey everyone, i bought a set of headlamps (bi-xenon pretty sure) got them on but only the inner ones light up, i took them off again to see if i connected them wrong and i notice that something can be plugged under them, but my car doesn't have any more connections (well i couldn't find any) is it because of that that they don't turn on? or is it something els? ( i have a friend with a [das, xentry computer]).

Maybe go by the dealer and ask them to install it? I know mine will prob do it for free. I don't think this is the usual DIY project, so don't expect a lot if any replies about this.. Sorry that this post didn't help though.

thanks for the suggestion, but doesn't seem to difficult to connect (it just has a few screws and it goes right in the plug) if it continues with the problem ill take it to the dealer. Thanks again!

That part you've got there is likely the Ballast, which is what controls and ignites the lights in the HID/Bi-Xenon setup. It is certainly a required piece of an HID setup. From my limited research on this (since I want HID on my car as well) the Bi-Xenon setup from Mercedes includes a front facing camera to level the lights to the road. I'm curious to see if the lights will operate without the camera.

Hopefully you can get the ballast installed and things working properly. Please report back with what you find!
