Question about sound system
Hey guys,
First post here, with hopefully a simple question.
Is there a way to change the default volumn setting on my sound system?
I have a 2011 E350 Bluetech that brings the radio on louder than I would like everytime I start it up. Turning it down before I shut off the car changes nothing.
Sorry if this is in the owners manual. I haven't read a book that thick since high school!

welcome to the forums Steve,![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
that's an odd symptom to have eh?
I think many folks had the opposite concern, but it sounds like something the
dealer might be able to adjust.....
mine has never been too loud upon start up, usually where I leave the volume....
good luck and enjoy the ride![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)

You might do a search, as I think there was a previous thread on this same topic. The funny thing is that mine is always where I left it. There is no default level. If I can barely hear it when I turn it off, I can barely hear it when I return. Or if it's blasting, it will still be blasting.
I assume you are compensating for the fact that most times the music will SEEM louder when you return to the car since it's a new sound and not one you've been listening to for a while.

I made a thread about it an can't remember if it was ever resolved with anyone, but not on my cars. Some people said they didn't have (or notice) the same issue, however. You can read through it:
.... Edit: Can't find the thread I thought I made about this. I know I made a fuss about it an a discussion ensued. Maybe it was on one of the DTB threads or something.

I never experienced this with either my E or my S. The volume is always right where I left it. Strange. There must be a setting somewhere that gets yacked up from time to time.

Totally annoying. Every time I start the car I have to turn the radio off ,even if it was off before last shut down. ( I also hit the eco button at every start

does your car save radio station or other audio source with the memory seat setting. If it does it may also save the volume level meaning that what ever volume level you had at the time you saved the seat position it could be picking that same level every time you start the car.
Thanks for the attempt

Readjust the settings for Bass/Treble, etc, at the volume you want, then see if the saved settings also correct the volume level.
With my 2001, very occasionally the volume will randomly spike on start-up. That car has a EQ reset button (to factory settings), However, readjusting the preferred levels always solved any issues. Again, it doesn't happen often. Haven't found the reset for the W212 yet as I haven't needed it. But I wager there is one somewhere.
