streaming music like Pandora

I'm a little embarrassed to ask a simple question and don't even know how to phrase it.
I've read old posts where members want to upgrade command center to be able to stream music. I believe my 2012 E350 is up to date.
Where do I start to understand how to do this? I do not use BT and don't even have a smart phone.
Am I able to load music like I do on desktop?

I'm a bit confused. You want to stream music from your phone but you don't have a smart phone?

Maybe that answers my question. I somehow thought the command center
picks up the music. I tried to explain all this technology is confusing to me.
I guess I was trying to get around the SIRIUS subscription.
Thanks for replying

Pandora uses a smart phone (it's kind of like a little computer, but it's a cellular phone too), and bluetooth, which is a wireless connection technology.

So the phone downloads the music and connects to the car, which plays it out your speakers.

A smart phone costs $30/month in data charges, so I'd just buy the Sirius if I were you.

Keep in mind Pandora and similar streaming services sound considerably better than Sirius. If you care about that I'd get yourself a smart phone and do it right.

Check out TMobile. They are offering some ridiculous cheap plans right now and do not require a contract. I'm a Verizon guy buy their new pricing model is darn good.

Thank you all. Now I understand. I have looked into T Mobile and unfortunately their signal is very weak in my neighborhood where
I would also want to use the phone.
At least I now understand streaming.
