Potential E350 buyer looking for help

Hello Folks,

I live in Seattle WA and am looking to purchase a new or CPO Benz E350 4Matic.

The deal I was being offered is invoice pricing for a 2013 E350 + P2 package. I was wondering if i could better?

Also, I was looking at a 2010 e350 CPO with P2 package, KBB says CPO is around 38K. What should be the figure I should be looking for on this?

Are there any incentives being offered? Please help, i so want to own a E350

you could do better on the invoice pricing on the 2013 since the facelifted model is coming out. the 2010 seems a bit high,36,000 seems like a more fair price. either way any one of these cars you choose will be amazing!

you hit the nail right on the head! stay firm with your 35k price and with a bit of haggling the dealer should cave. I have to say though the E class that you are looking at has almost every option expect for night view assist! amazing find bro!

I still think $35k is too much. A 2010 clean trade-in with 27k miles is about $31k. I would see if the dealer will go down another 1k.

Hmm... I can try but I offered 35K. I would need data to backup another 1K down. What price point does this become a good deal and a great deal?

you don't need any data to take another $1k or more off. it all depends on how much your dealer/salesperson would like to move the car off their lot. as you know, the 2014 is already here which means they'll probably get more lease returns or trade-ins and that's your bargaining power. some said go during end of month and right before they close to get better deal. i think price somewhere between private party and trade in is good and close to trade in is great! good luck !

I had another question. If I want to target 2012 lease returns, should I wait longer now that the face lifted 2014s have started coming in?

I agree! What you need to find out, also, is your loan to value percentage. The lender will never tell you this unless you ask. This percentage basically gives you an idea how much your car is actually worth against the amount of money you're borrowing to pay for the car.

For example, let's say the car will cost you around $37,500 out the door (assuming cost of the car + Tax + License) and with zero down, the bank/lender will tell you that the car (in their calculation) is only worth $34,000. So, take $37,500 divide by $34,000 = 110% loan to value.

Most banks and lenders will lend money up to 125% LTV. Unless you're planning to keep the car more than five years, you wouldn't want to take on more than 115% LTV.

If I wanna go for a new car. What should be my target price for a P2 equipped 2014 as opposed to a 2013?

That's a great way to look at it. I will surely ask.

there's probably not much room for you to play around for the 2014 but 2013 is a totally different story.

Someone at Edmunds posted they were able to get $3k below invoice for a 2014 with the MBCA certificate and USAA pricing. I am trying to get invoice since I am not a member of either USAA or MBCA. So far, I have been offered $4300 off MSRP and another offering $500 of my best deal.

Check for incentives and special discounts - there are all manner of them. I got $4K off an E550 just for being a USAA member.

And invoice isn't the dealer's true cost - there's still bargaining room.

I just got 33K in trade for my former 2010 E350W4 Sport P1, with 27k miles. At auction they go for 27 - 29k If you can get that car for 31k that would be an incredible deal. Out here they seem to be selling for 36 - 39k depending on the miles and features. 42k is way to high. you can get 2012s for 42 - 46k depending on miles and features. Did you check around your area, say up to 100 miles to get competitive pricing to show the dealer?

I agree. I also have an eye out for 2012 E350 4Matic (6700 miles)

Specifications:
Premium 1 Package (COMAND® System w/Hard-Drive Navigation, Heated Front Seats, iPod/MP3 Media Interface Cable, Power Rear Window Sunshade, and SIRIUS Satellite Radio), Sport Sedan Package (Sport Body Styling and Sport Suspension), Active Blind Spot Assist, Leather Upholstery, PARKTRONIC w/Parking Guidance, Power moonroof, and Rear-View Camera.

The dealer is asking 48K. I am prepared to offer 42K. Does that sound like a fair price? The carfax is clean but it had two owners in a span of 1.5 months. Not sure about that
