Seems the wiring is two wires for each side and my wiring harness actually provides power to the 3 motors that lower the headrests on the bench seat backrest. So I am gonna wire four of my harness wires to the 4 on the folding seats, after reviewing the schematics for my car's wiring.
you never know how valuable folding rear seats are until the day you need them... and usually you're at home depot... and usually you look like an idiot in the parking lot when you realize your seats do NOT go down, LOL!
Shoulda opted IN for those folding seats!
also -- very nice project, a little off the beaten path compared to most, but a great mod, and very professionally done -- will make it so much easier trading it in or selling it privately when they see how clean this is...

I did this before on my former 2008 C300 and it was not that hard. The E350, was actually easier to disassemble than the C300 was. Getting the wiring reworked is what I need to do next and I will hopefully find the wiring diagram tonight or this week sometime, and start the required mods on Saturday.
Recommend that you get the procedure from STARTEKINFO for you car and review it prior to attempting this procedure.
Also did you search the W204 forum for the thread on this topic? If not here you go, this thread should answer all your questions for the W204 for installing split-folding rear seats in a car that had the non-split-folding rear seats as stock.
Again, Recommend that you need to go on STARTEKINFO and download the procedure so that you can see with pictures how to do this. This will make it easy for you.

I got myself a twin rear reat via ebay for below 300 euro.. the leather did not match my avantgarde.. and i also found that i could not live without the folding option.. so i created this frankenseat.. -easy to bring back to stock.
Next task is to buy the heat controllers and wire the heat to the backrest and lower pad..

I did change the seatcovers, so there is stock Avantgarde part "leather" on the twins" now.. (had to play with sissor, needle)
furthermore the and heat elements had to be modified to fit the folddown back..
So it is all in stock avantgaede now.
I dont think it heating was an option with folddown back..
and i dont think twin rear seats was avalible i avantgarde "part leather"..
Actualy for getting used split folding seats for a C300 and a E350, I never got the part numbers, I jusrt asked for the compatible seats for the w204 and the W212. The auto recyclers who had them sent them and they worked for me. So that is were I would start. Part numbers for more sophisticated parts is required to insure compatibility, but seats, and other interior parts not so much. Retrofitting Factory NAV, and a factory refridgerator did require a part number search.
Can we make our regular seat just fold forward instead of buying the split piece? Just the connectors etc, or the backrest is a different design?*
I upgraded the steering wheel from leather to wooden (luckily matching wood trim-burl walnut and leather color-gray), upgrading the wheels soon and if the split rear seats are also done, it would be close to perfect and I can drive it to the ground..!
*I mean instead of 60-40 split, just the whole seat to come down. I can live with that.
Well, I completed 90% my retrofit of the rear folding seats. All I have left to do is to connect my 6 wire harness to the 2 4 wire harnesses on the folding rear backrests. I have the rear deck shelf to install, but I may wait on that, not a real issue unless/until, I trade the car in (on a 2013 E550 in a few years)
I removed:
the non-folding backrest
the locking mechanisms for the backrest
I installed:
folding seat retractable locking mechanisms with cables and handles
Split-Folding rear backrest
(Reinstalled) my rear bench seat pad
Researching the wiring harnesses, trying to find out if they are simply wiring for lowering the headrests? Does anyone know?

Hi, I am new to this site and not sure this is the right place for my question, but closest I can get. My 2013 E350 is supposed to have split folding rear seats (per the original receipt) but I can’t figure out how to fold them down. Sorry, I know this is a stupid question but I have been messing around with it and just can’t figure it out. I have had the car for a couple years, but just now trying to fit a carpet into it. There are tie-downs in the trunk, and a ski pass-through, but the rear seat on the right looks like it’s supposed to go down and I can’t find a latch. Thank you for your advice.
