I have a 2011 E350 and I called Sirius today to see if I could get either traffic or weather or both and he said no. Is this correct?

I have traffic in my '11 E550, but no weather. I think that you need Command 4.5 to get weather but I could be wrong about that. Mine is a 10/10 build. Traffic actually works pretty well. Saved me about 2 hours driving back from NYC to Boston last week.

Anyone know how it works? Does it just look at all Sirius subscribers in an area and measure their speed?

I dont think they know what they are talking about at Sirius. My build date is 3/11, so I should definitely be able to get traffic. They just look at year, make and model of the car. They have no idea if I have Command 4.5 or not. I just hate the thought of calling these people back, but maybe I will get someone with more knowledge this time.

I hear you. I've had issues with them in the past with other vehicles. I've found that calling during normal hours (i.e. middle of the day) you are more likely to get someone that knows what the hell they are talking about...

I've also seen various posts that you can get traffic without sirius radio and vice versa.

I've currently got a trial on mine and will look to get traffic only once the trial is up. Dont see the value in now Sirius with Pandora and Spotify, etc..
