Test-drove 2014 E350

I stopped at my dealer yesterday to see how the new E350 drives. I have a little more than a year left on my lease and really, really love my car (2012, fully loaded, black with black leather). At this point I'm inclined to keep my car.

Having said that, I did like the feel of the 2014. Specifically the steering felt a little tighter ... A subtle difference, and I will admit I didn't give the car a real flogging. But the feel of the front end and steering was more in the direction of a BMW 5-series. Btw ... I drove an E sport.

As for the looks, well ... I guess it is growing on me. If i didn't have my car, I would probably be fine with the new look.

So ... One question I have is when will MB make the next change? It may well make the difference in what I do next year.

Curious what y'all think?

I'm guessing around 2016 or 2017 MY a complete redesign will come out.

Rumor has it the 3.5 will be replaced with a 3.0 turbo V6 with around 350 hp in MY 2015

If you have more than a year to go on your lease - a lot can change in that time. You may also find that leasing the new E350 will be less than extending or buying out your current lease.

I was at the PGA in Rochester last week and there were E350 sponsor cars everywhere. I like the new styling.

I think they may have tweaked the steering a bit which I found to be very slightly noticeable, but the driving changes are so slight to identical that unless you're in love with the new grafted-on elements aesthetically, you'll essentially feel like you're driving the same car. The next E should be out in early to mid 2016 as a 2017 model.
