Good customer service from MB of Westwood

My battery in my 2010 decided to finally call it quits this afternoon. I called Mercedes of Westwood service and they connected me to their vehicle recovery line. I was quite pleased to find out that my tow was fully covered(the tow guy estimated it at $220) and they showed up in 45 minutes. Not the quoted 100 minute automated phone call I received. They ended up replacing my battery(just under $450) for free even though it was not covered under warranty. I had purchased this vehicle in May and they agreed without any hesitation that it would be unfair to pay for a replacement after just 4 months. They are even washing her right now as i'm typing this from their lounge. I just wanted to post a positive thread. A happy MB customer!

Even though this dealer is not in my area, it's good to read that there are dealers that still place high regard for the customer satisfaction.
Unfortunately, most people will not say good things about a dealer, only the bad.

It is sad indeed when we start praising companies for doing their jobs. The tow is included and the policy always has been to quote a longer arrival time than actually expected to account for delays or traffic.

Equally, you can bet the entire contents of your wallet that the battery was reported to MB as a warranty item. The dealer did NOT absorb the cost of this repair.

The title of this post should be "I'm very pleased that the system worked as promised and the dealer didn't try to screw me."

Can't you just let the man be happy?

I think it's good that the outcome was good. This is why I like MB, they have taken care of me.

I agree, there are far too many negative dealership posts. Most of the dealerships deserve them, but on that rare occasion a post like this is welcome. I hope that this dealer continues to cater to your meeds. Congratulations.

while it does please me to read OP's experience: I have to agree with CEB on this one........
they did what they were supposed to do you know?
just wait: the same dealer WILL let you down......just give 'em another chance

still glad it worked out for you

Correct. I'm happy the dealer took care of the OP but when we start believing that doing your job is going above and beyond, then we are letting mediocre service as the norm and we're one step closer to Idiocracy.
