2014 E350 Wagon
Buying. In Texas leasing sucks because you have to pay sales tax on the entire purchase price of the vehicle not just the monthly payments. But even if I take the hit of the extra sales tax (it would mean an extra $100/month on the payment compared to other states where you only pay sales tax on the monthly payment) wagon residuals are not as competitive as the sedans and the money factor is not supportive either.
I'm also driving pretty excessive mileage right now with my kids being in multiple sports and activities, one of them being travel hockey, so leasing would be a rather expensive endeavor just as buying and replacing it every 3 years so I'm planning on keeping this one for 7 years 125k miles and buying the warranty to cover that period.
My monthly payment on this puppy will be north of $1,300....

Picked her up today! So far so good! I love the color and the features are just amazing on the car. Distronic is mind blowing with the steering assist. The Active contour driver seat with the massage is just plain stupid cool! And the kids love the rear seat entertainment in the car, not one peep out of them through the entire way home. The system is truly amazing.
This is what I let go for the Benz. I will miss the 6-speed standard transmission but the new goodies will more than make up for it in the long run!

Lovely wagon, I think I'd pick those identical colors and specs. The wagon body really works well with the facelift front clip, too. One of the classiest vehicles on the road, so much better than a bloated SUV or similar.

I was going to get Lunar Blue originally based on the on-line photos but when I saw Lunar Blue in person I found it too dark at the dealer but it wasn't on an E-class. When I saw it again on an E-class in Europe I found it very nice and made me wish I got that instead. But now that I got my wagon I'm very happy with the Indigo Blue as well, it's not as loud as the BMW was and that is probably OK on a Mercedes wagon.

I would call it steel blue and I think it is a truly classy color.

I really like Steel Grey, but every other MB here in LA is that color. Diamond silver is quite striking (similar to the ice blue-green that BMW makes), but it's also becoming quite common. Really wanted a sapphire grey car, but there weren't any in the LA area w/ the grey interior + wood trim I wanted, and I'm too impatient to special order.
Enjoy your car! =)

Yeah just the Nappa steering wheel and seats would be leather in a leather-option car. In an MB Tex car there is no leather at all aside from the Nappa steering wheel.
M-B USED to put real leather on the door armrests and inserts when you got a Leather-Package interior, but they cost cut that to the point of even putting Vinyl material all over the dash and door inserts/rests on the brand new S Class. Only way you can get real leather all around is by getting the highest Leather Package offered (there are 3 levels, and naturally the highest one costs major coin).
IMO spending this kind of coin for a car and not being totally enamored with it, i.e not having it be your end-all-be-all ultimate choice in your price-range in emotional as well as logical ways is a sucky way to go about things (you only live once). Picking a car based on it being a "routine" in a day and age where the competition is so stiff, to me is just short changing yourself. To each their own I guess.
