seat coolers
I had the opportunity to try the seat coolers in 2 rentals recently, a Ford Taurus and an infinityi M35. I was very very impressed with how cold the seats would cool to.
Now sitting in my car i cant even tell that mine are on. What temperature are the seats supposed to be cool to? Or is it simply air blowing up my ***?

Also, it makes a difference how large you are. I am 240lbs and the seat doesnt vent well. If I get out of the car with the A/C running and get back in 2 minutes later the seat is nice and cool. I block too much air flow...
My wife complains of a cold seat when I turn her side on.

Mine are marginal, at best...but, not too bad on a longer trip. My last ride was a Cadillac Escalade EXT...now those seat coolers would actually COOL the seats!

Even with mesh shorts and sweaty from the gym, I can't tell if mine are working either. My E550 Coupe was the same, whereas my '12 SRT8 and '10 FX35 would ice you out of the vehicle in 5min or less, if left on full blast.
I've come to the conclusion MB decided that eliminating SwampAss™ was their design goal, not chilling your rear.

The seat ventilation seems to be done with two cheap muffin fans in the back of each seat. Can't feel a thing from the bottom cushion, barely noticeable from the back cushion. I had a 2005 Toyota Avalon that had far superior, and quieter, seat ventilation.

ventilated seats in MB and pretty useless and you feel worse about them if you have had the proper cooled seats before like I had in the lexus. Better to save that money and put towards a different option.

Don't know how the other car companies did it but MB ventilated seats are pretty much useless as they are but there is a way to improve it.
I got a seat "cover" made of those wood beads. It keeps my fat *** from blocking the air flow so the small amount of air that would come thru the perforation on the leather can actually flow thru. Made a big improvement.

they stop you from sweating...if you had straight up leather in a hot day the back of your shirt would have sweat down the middle. This is the main reason for it.

Why?
You have not seen the wood bead seat covers? They are all over in the world. Almost every taxi driver in Europe has it on the driver's seat. I have seen this in taxis in China too.
This seat cover provides an air gap between you and the seat leather. It also gives like a micro massage to your skin and it really improves how the very weak MB seat ventilation works.
