Intermittent starting problem

I have a 2013 E350 with about 6,000 miles on it. Four times, the following issue has occurred. The dealer has not been able to reproduce the problem and the car does not have any codes registered when using an OBDII reader.

After the car has sat for between 2 to 4 hours, I will start the car normally by turning the key and letting go while the car cranks and then starts. The car starts almost immediately and then stalls. I restart the car and it will run, but not well. It acts like only half of the cylinders are firing. If I press the gas to raise the idle above 1,000 RPMs and then let go the car runs fine.

I cannot reproduce the problem and the dealer is not aware of anyone reporting a similar issue.

Any ideas?

I had a similar issue on my 2013 E550. Software update was performed on the ECU. Problem was the mixture was too lean at startup. Problem has not reoccurred since repair.

Thanks you for the quick reply. I have provided this information to the dealer and they are reviewing it. I will let you know what happens.

Thanks again.
