E 350 Tires
Any one having trouble with the stock Continentals? I have about 7000 kms on the vehicle. It started having tire balance symptoms (mostly when tires were cold in am) @ about 5000kms. MB put a new set on and problems went away for 3 days. Put another set on, same thing. MB said they were having flat spot problems on a bunch of them. For the 3rd set they put on a new set of Michelins yesterday. We'll see how they work out.

The factory continental contipro contacts aren't a very good tire. They wear out quickly, develop tread noise, have balancing/flat spot issues, and have very weak side walls.
Not sure what type of Michelins you got installed but it may not be much better.

Flat spotting on high performance tires is not unusual - even overnight. If the tires don't smooth out after they've been driven enough to warm them up (at least 15 minutes at moderate speed), you have a different problem - bent wheel, damaged tire, or just a poor job of balancing.

I've had 4 Mercedes in 4 years and all of them have had the Continental tires on them. I've had no problem with any of the tires other than the fact that they do develop flat spots just from being parked overnight.
Its no big deal. The tires warm up in 10 to 15 minutes in the morning and the car rides smooth again.
