New 2010 E350 Owner
First post on the site as I just picked up a 2010 E350 Sport
http://www.mercedesbenzofathens.com/...3a9291fe62.htm
Looking to make a few changes
-removal of the Mercedes hood emblem for a flush mount
-replace the grill for one with the MB Star
-change DRL for hockey sticks LED
I have already been reading thru the forum but any advice is appreciated.
Is my car the AMG sport model.. How do you tell the difference?
Thank You

Looks like you have about 1,500 miles to figure out what is covered and not covered with your warranty. My car is in service now and it's a CPO car with 54k miles. The rear defrost is extremely weak, barely enough to take care of condensation after 15 minutes. My dealer mentioned this may not be covered under the extended CPO warranty after 50k. Its a fine line so research all you can before you hit the 50k mark. Great choice btw!

also, regarding the warranty, glad you bought that up. So, I decline the extended warranty which was 2yrs/3500 miles for 2200+ which would have given me 7yrs 135k miles. Heres why, I started looking at extended warranty option when I was considering a BMW and came across such an option thru triple A. They offer a number of different warranty options and I was looking at their 5yr 80k miles for about 2200. I can use any Mercedes dealership, includes towing, key replacement and pretty much everything outlined by Mercedes. I wanted to confirm any warranty work would be with OEM parts and not aftermarket. But once that is confirmed, this seemed like a much better option. Thoughts?
and what about that maintenance option.. A / B service.. One of each for $699 or 2 A's and 1B for $999
Thanks in advance

Congrats and enjoy.
P.S. Just to clarify - This car has Sport package, but there is no wheel package, which adds 3 spoke Sport steering wheel.

Congrats on new car. I have been worrying over extended warranty for last year or so. Bit the bullet and bought 3 more years through MBUSA. Mileage not an issue for me. You need to think about driving to an MB dealership and asking them to replace the engine, transmission, main computer, seat computer, audio, BlueTooth, etc. and getting AAA (or anyone else) to pay total cost for it. You're in the middle between dealer and AAA.
BTW, latest Consumer Reports reports on reliability. Most common failures are electronics for all makes. Lots of electronics in an MB E Class.

Never had any electronic problem in my 2010 E350. The car showed very reliable. It had one sad problem, battery gone, but MB know the problem, some wrong supplier was selected fro batteries, only limited batch of cars affected.
