Porsche Macan S SportDesign / Ex M-B's: 11 & 10 & 06 E350's, 02 S500
I'm a High School teacher who cooks up Crystal Blue Persuasion in a camper with one of my slacker ex students on the side. I drive a black Chrysler 300 SRT and have a Pontiac Aztek as my beater (currently and often in the shop for external repairs). My "real" boss is an a$$hole named Gus and I can't stand his Chief of Security.
So true. My Mom "taught" me to "never trust anyone who pulls up in a flashy car". Amazing how true it plays out (more often than not). Usually they're the brokest ones out of everybody, figure that. She was once leasing her house out, and a guy pulled up to interview for it in a brand new Maserati... you'd think that would earn him green points... in actuality it was a big red flag.
I agree. Even in Beverly Hills & Bel Air though, I see a lot of my neighbors driving regular cars (Toyotas, Hondas, Fords, the like), but spending millions on homes and clothing from Barneys & Saks (total opposites, but they don't care about cars, I guess). Then again, most of them have a short commute time to work. On the other hand, I see "wannabe" sales people in the Beverly Hills customer service industry driving expensive cars on leases. It depends on what you want to prioritize.

I am a senior vehicle test engineer for Daimler Trucks North America (we make Freightliner, Western Star, etc. semi trucks) and my wife is a partner in a market research firm. I don't have to be loyal to the brand but we love them since our first Benz, a 2005 C320 Sport. Now I have a 2014 E350 as an employee lease (which is a killer deal) and my wife recently bought a '13 E550 Cab.

The wife and I are self employed but dabble in just about anything that interests us while we finish up our degree's. At home we have: '12 E350 4M Sport Sedan, 2 '13 C300 4M Sport Sedans and a '14 E350 4M Sport Sedan.

-The Mercedes trucks cost a lot more than ours
-The specs are setup for Europe laws so they wouldn't work well here (axle/suspension weight ratings, etc.)
-There would be a fair amount of homologation (part changing) to make them legal here and work with the North American trailers
-They are all cab-over-engine design that doesn't sell well here anymore

True.......
but you have nothing to worry about until Ben or Yellen stops QE probably march 2014. Just scale out before Fed meetings. They created a mess and I shall profit from their 'mistakes' ....plus now all you have to do is create a 'social media' website
and remember the turtle always wins the race!
