I am searching for a used >2012 e350

a few questions if anyone can shed light on:

how bad is to purchase a non cpo from a "used car dealer"? Originally I like to purchase from a "new car dealer" and a CPO, but the price of a CPO is a bit high for me.

from car fax this car has been to a few states and a few dealerships, some of them are even new car dealerships, but why wasn't this car CPOed? Does this raise red flags?

What kind of mechanic can give me the best pre purchase inspection? does a MB new car dealer do that for a fee?

Thank you everyone!

My concern is the move from NYC to FL and the date when it happened. Does anything seem off about a car getting moved across the country 3 weeks after hurricane Sandy tore NYC apart to a state that's been known about slapping a title on anything with 4 wheels? I would not touch that car with a 10 foot pole. My guess is it was water damaged salvaged then cleaned and retitled in Florida. It's too early for 2012 lease returns to be hitting the used car market just yet unless there was something wrong with them.

At the very least I would call the Florida dealer to find out how they acquired the car and why they shipped it back to the north. Either way something is obviously not right for a car to be shipped around like this. Every time it moves it cost someone $1K. How can you make it back on a legitimate trade? You can't. So something must be up. It's simple as that. If it sounds too good to be true it probably is.

All I know is when I see a cheap Mercedes the first thing I do is check to see if it was in NY at the time of Sandy and more often than not it was.

That price is too unrealistic. I've seen Salvage titles selling for more.

There are some good deals out there on 2012's but they are hard to find.

Looks like a good price to me, there is no 2012 with that miles in the auctions, and 2011 are a bit less. I don't see the big deal with the carfax, it was driven alot and driven to fl. Why would you assume it got shipped arounf the east coast. With those miles looks like it was simply driven. It had its services (the 40k service is not showing). The dealer got a new title in the dealers name, no big deal. Looks like it got sold on oct 29 to a private owner. Is it even for sale still? that would be the only weird thing.

It is not easy to wipe a flood title by moving this car to FL etc. I doubt a dealer like that size would do that. Those are the single ebay cars that you have to worry about more for rollbacks and flood damage.

The carfax is correct on this 2012 E350, based on the dates the car is NY during the summer and during the winter its in Flordia. Many people who are retired go down south because of the weather becoming cool up north. What you need to know is that this certain dealership post their prices very low to attract a buyer, once you actaully go they will add 5K-6k in hidden fees. Save yourself a headach and look somewhere else, best stop by your local Mb dealership! Just my .2

I agree with mb 21 about the "snow bird" to Florida during the winter. Looked at car(online), appears clean. Carfax looks as good as can be. I believe the reason for lower price is the near 50k miles on the clock. 25k per year is about 10k to 13k over the norm. If that was highway driving back and forth to Fla. I would assume, providing proper maintenance was done, would be healthy for the motor.
