My 2012 have this cover and my friend who bought the 2013 didn't. I asked the dealer about this and he said that after 2012, mb no longer puts them into the cars because apparently people were having a very hard time accessing the spare tire with the cover there..

Hi guys,
I recently purchased a CPO 2013 E350. My car does not have the spare wheel well cover. A friend of mine also purchased the same car, same year, CPO also. And his came with it. So I can't figure out why some cars come with it and some don't. Even my salesman doesn't know. He figured somebody must've taken it out, but I couldn't figure out why anybody would do such a thing. Anybody has a CPO W212 that has no spare wheel well cover also? Here's a pic of my spare tire wheel well, after lifting up the trunk carpeting.

The part is not listed on either www.parts.com or www.genuinemercedesparts.com under 2014 E350 4Matic. So I assume it would not fit my 2015. I wonder if it might retain too much heat with the extra battery back there.

My '15 has the same battery in the spare well and also has no cover.
Not sure if I'm following correctly… should it? If not, why? If not and it will fit, should I ask my dealer for one?

Konigstiger (thanks!) advised me that (for my '15 anyway) the part is greyed out, so my dealer probably wouldn't provide one gratis. It's not so expensive (found online for about $42). If it would fit, it might be useful storage. I'm curious to know if it was not included for, a) cost, or b) technical reasons. Maybe I'll ask the MB Tech next time I'm there.

i bought this panel and am having a hard time getting to sit flush on the back end where the pull out handle is . can someone post a picture of how it is properly installed?

If you have the tool rotisserie within the spare tire, I doubt the larger cover being discussed will fit.

My 12 has one and my 13 does not, just assumed it was a Sport/Luxury thing. I don't see any reason it would not fit in the 13 too, the cutouts are there for holding it in place. Might effect the sound level too.

No Ma'am, in the left dash like the 12, I believe it showed up with the ECO start/stop in the 14 MY, my buddy has a 14 with the battery in trunk. My 13 does have the slots to install it though, we are going for a ride after dinner, I will look in his trunk to see if it would fit.

Anyway, not clear the cover will fit in the cars with the aux battery in the trunk. Will have to go for that battery cover as suggested by Bob.

Well, my buddy has the battery and it comes close to the top but not over it, if you have the lips and the slots I think it would fit, it does have a high spot above were the battery is located. The picture with the cover is my 12 the one without is the 13. Yes I vacuumed after the pictures and reset the storage shelf so it was in there correctly.

The cover looks great, but I wish I knew for sure if it would sit flush/properly with the aux battery. I might just buy it and return it if it doesn't work.

At the rear it goes under the lip, see picture above. I did re-install so all three tabs on the right side went into the slots correctly. so on top on the left and front, in the three slots on the right and below the lip in the back.

Well, my 12 is quieter than my 13 on the highway, don't know if this shelf has anything at all to do with that, but I'm going to order one for the 13 since it's "missing"
