snow chains

Anyone have experience or recommendations for snow chains for a 2011 E350? MB USA recommended only RUD chains from Germany but I could not find a US dealer. I am considering the Thule Self-Tensioning Snow Tire Chains for Passenger Vehicles - CS10 - Size 102 for a 245/45 R17 tire.

I do not know about your state but here in MA, it is illegal to use snow chains.

According to MB and RUD your vehicle does not have enough clearance for tire chains. They only product approved by MB is the Soft Spike. This is a Textile traction devise that has a wire coil threaded into it. If you use any other traction devise on your vehicle, it is at your own rick and could void any warranties. Check out our product on our website. http://www.rud.com/en-us/products/sn...softspike.html

Thank you,
RUD Chain USA

Thule K-summit K33 will work. It's pretty expensive though but tell me something that isn't...

I just had to look it up.

"No person, except a duly authorized person driving an emergency fire vehicle, shall operate a motor vehicle equipped with metal studded tires upon a public way between May the first and November the first; provided, however, the registrar may authorize the use of such tires before November the first, if weather conditions require the use thereof. Whoever violates the provisions of this paragraph shall be punished by a fine of not more than fifty dollars."

Sounds like snow chains and even studded tires are perfectly fine in the winter in MA. Source: https://malegislature.gov/Laws/Gener...er90/Section16
