2014 E350 audio questions

I finally got my 2014 E350 but I found it is impossible to connect my ipod/iphones to the system. I tried several ways but none has worked. My iPod is the first gen ipod video, iOS 1.1.5; the phone is iPhone 5 running on iOS 6.1.4. I have also tried to load a few songs (mp3) from a usb stick but the system could not recognize it either...

1. tried to connect ipod to the system via cable - failed
2. tried to load songs from USB sticker - failed
3. tried to connect iphone to the system via bluetooth - music part failed, calling function okay
4. tried to connect iphone to the system via usb cable - failed

thank you for any input!

try formatting the USB drive to Fat32 and load few songs see if that works for you.

My iPhone 5S and wife's 5 worked without any problem streaming audio over Bluetooth to our 2014 E250. Both iPhones are running iOS 7 though.

Gavin, my I-phone 5, USB memory stick and SD card all work with music I downloaded from I-tunes. Not sure why you are having issues.

thanks for your inputs - I upgraded my iPhone 5 to iOS7 and it is working now through Bluetooth. USB still does not work...I'll format it to FAT32 tomorrow.

The only way Ive found to get songs onto the Music Register on my 2011 E class is to load from a CD. Is there some way to bypass this restriction with a USB-connected thumb drive?

No problem playing music from an iPod Nano or a FAT32 thumb drive connected to the Media Interface.

i have a 8GB Sandisk formatt to FAT 32

I filled it up max to 8GB all MP3 songs just copy paste from my PC

No problem what so ever i have them organize in folders, In the command menu it shows up all the folders and all the songs in each folders

I have a 32GB Sandisk never had time to try that but it should work as well.

I have my Samsung S4 64Gb micro SD Card with 32Gb of MP3 songs and that works perfectly over BT Audio no problem what so ever

control next songs and volume from my steering wheel

Another audio question:

I was riding in the back seat of our 2014 E250 (first time really) and noticed the audio was very poor back there.

We have the Harman kardon system and there are suppose to be three speakers on the back shelf: two 5 × 80 mm ALumaprene speakers and a 1 × 200 mm × 270 mm double voice-coil subwoofer in the rear deck (per http://www.harmankardon.com/estore/h...ercedes-eclass)

I swear the subwoofer isn't working. Maybe it's not hooked up properly? I hear more bass from the front speakers than the rear deck.

I'll have the dealer check this out when I next go in, but does this sound familiar to anyone? Is the subwoofer just really underwhelming?

Do you have the controls set with the bass up a few notches? It has individual adjustments per source - cd, radio, Bluetooth, etc. Make sure you didn't just set it for 1 of the sources.

My C has the HK and enough bass to be overwhelming to people back there if the volume is up.

It looks like MB migrating away of iDevices. So I switched very timely to Android platform and no issues at all. It can connect in any possible way
1. BT streaming
2. USB
3. Analog jack

Migrating away from iDevices? Not sure where you get that...

Siri handsfree is coming to COMAND.

Android will never be able to match iOS integration - too many OS variables and too much fragmentation.

I got it from the forum just keep reading and you will get clue that only iDevices have
1. BT streaming problem
2. Address book synchronization problem
3. USB connection problems
You can conclude that all members of the forum own iDevices, or only people who own iDevices like to complain.

I am glad to know that Siri is coming to COMMAND since voice command recognition is a big problem for E class.

My friends got into my 2014 w212 4M with HKLogic7, they complained the same thing and I increased the volume and they said it is OKAY.
How to get it tested? Dealer will test it? Can we test it on our own?
