Bridgestone S-04 Pole Position: 1st week review.
After switching from 2012 E350BTC to 2014 E350W with electric steering system, I was not happy with the steering feel and the LRR ContiProContacts. The sidwall was too soft for any spirited driving and the wet traction was subpar.
Decided to try these Bridgestone's S-04 PP out for few reasons:
- These are considered alternative to Pilot Super Sports for 2/3 cost.
- Great reviews from the (E9x) M3 owner forums
- Comes with XL rating for our big sedans.
After driving these for about a week, here are my feedback:
- Slight increased in road noise
- V6 will not have enough power to break traction off the line
- Wet traction is awesome compared to the ContiProContact. I floored it off the line from stop light and didn't even trip the traction control.
- Steering response is better due to the stiff sidewall and also as little rim protection against curbage.
- Handling is awesome now. It puts the sport back to "sport sedan"
- I am still running F:35 R:38 psi
