Finally pulled the trigger on a 2012 CPO E 350. Both I and wife adore the car! I do have a question about backing up sensor and hope some one can help me. My car has P1 package but does not have parktronic. I vaguely remember that during many test drives p1 model gave audible warning when backing up. My car does not give out beeping sound when I get close to any object ( i tried to back up slightly in my garage with door close). I read the manual and did some search online and I still don't know how to get it to work. P1 model should have this function right?

The P1 package on pre-facelift models do not have any parking sensors at all. You will only have them if you have parktronic. You can confirm this by going to your front and back bumpers and see if there are small circles around the bumpers.

The P1 on 2014s only gives you rear camera, the park sensors were always part of the parktronic package.

No beeps when backing up without parktronic. The rear camera does a good job when backing into a parking space, may be all you need.

Thanks guys. So many cars have the sensors these days and I think they should be standard on top of the rear view camera.
What a bummer. Should have ponied up for Parktronic.
