Adaptive lighting noise?
I have a new 2014 E350 (less than 800 miles) with the adaptive lighting system. Upon shutting off the vehicle there is a whinning noise coming from both headlights - last about 10 to 30sec. This noise will restart if I open any door. This noise can be stopped if I lock the car with the MB key fob.
Is this a fan noise in each headlight assembly? a "CAN" that need cooling?
thoughts please.
thanks,

Same noise in mine in the evenings when I park in my garage. Never notice it when I'm leaving it parked at work and such. Same noise turns off when locked by key press too. Hmmm ...

It's really annoying in an otherwise quiet garage! And it triggers at the most random times (ie: after the car has sat for several hours, I'll be out looking for something and it will trigger). I'm dreading the day I come out to a dead battery.
I leave the key in the car so it doesn't "know" I'm there.

I have the same problem and it is quite annoying. According to my dealer this is fan noise from LED lights. MB needs to figure out a better cooling fan.
