Any insights on the changes of 2015 E-Class?

Good Year,

My wife's E350 lease will end in the coming end-of-September, and her salesman already told her that she could return hers and lease a new one as early as April.

We are interested in leasing another E-Class, but not sure if we should get the MY2014 or wait for the MY2015.

I know it is just the beginning of 2014, yet would anyone happen to know what would be different/new on the 2015 E-Class?

Thanks,

If the new C-class is any indication (and I think it is) a 3.0L twin/bi-turbo seems pretty likely.

That is all but confirmed - the E550 will be replaced with the E400, which will be powered by the 3.0 L TT engine. Other than that I would not expect many changes.

Thanks folks,

Would Mercedes also update the 2015 E-Class with the new center console touchpad controller from the new C-Class?

Thanks,

I have heard that the E550 is done, and that there will be an E400. However, I have not heard enough about the lineup to conclude what will be available. Things like is there going to be an e350, anything bigger than the TT 3.0 v6, or say a gas powered E250.

The TT 3.0 sounds great, very appealing to me, but I don't believe that there is enough of a gap in performance to justify both 350 and 400.

I think that this will happen in the 2016 redesign.

Actually, I think one of the main mags like motor trend or car & driver already did a mini test on the 2015 E class. I honestly can remember which motor is was but I for sure know they were talking about 2015 E class. Im pretty darn sure the interior will be same as 2014 ./

yeah, major chassis change in fall of 2016. until then, probably not much will change per historical trends. but only internal MB folks know this for sure. the current COMAND display is looking really small compared to the competition, and they have a few cards that could be played sooner - the new 9-speed tranny and the integration of Apple iOS 7 to power COMAND.

regarding the E400 power train - they can squeeze more power out of the TT V6 for the E400 to differentiate from the C300 version, if they choose to. it could be higher displacement or just have different ECU/boost and intake/cooling/exhaust components.

one thing to note is that the industry is moving fast. ford has cut forecasts for 2014 due to heavy investments in bringing future models to market sooner, or whatnot. the whole thing is homogenous and they all dance together. i would expect others to be following this trend and are very busy bringing the next wave of vehicles forward, with drastic changes to powertrain and technology. you may be able to use this to an advantage to get deep discounts on current models and then be pulled forward on a lease when the model of your liking comes out.
