ashtray/cupholder silder stuck open - 2010 E550
Hi all,
I have an annoying problem with the cover to the ashtray/coin holder(?)/cup holders. I had my car cleaned and I'm 99% the people who were cleaning the inside broke the sliding lid. (I guess they didn't know it slid open...I'm not sure what they did.)
It's stuck open, all the way in the back, and no amount of jiggling or pulling will make it come loose or forward. And I can't see anything that is stuck keeping it that way.
Is there anything I can do short of taking it to the dealer to fix this?

Unfortunately, no.
I had someone at the dealership look at it, and it had to be completely taken apart and replaced. They were going to try and just shake it loose for me (I was in the dealership for my next service anyway), but they couldn't do it.
If it was more simple (maybe just a coin getting stuck), it may not have been so bad, but it was REALLY messed up. No more getting my car cleaned at that place...
