Stolen grill emblem !!!

So I guess this is the new thing now !!!! I go to visit my parents come out and bam my grill emblem in the center is gone no damage on the grill or bumpers so I'm sure someone swiped it. Sad really is I haven't even had the car a month. Any ideas why I know it is not the emblem that lights up , nore I have distant or parktronic ??? I know it dose have that little warning that pops up when changing lanes to fast with a object in front. Can that be it ?

First, sorry to hear about the vandalism. People that do this deserved to be kneecapped with a crowbar.

Second, I tried my best but could not understand what you were asking. Can you rephrase?

Sorry to hear about that , I guess you have an Avantgarde model with FL version and you must have a lane assist feature , last part of the message gives me some clues about that .
You should be able to buy it as a standalone option without having to buy a whole grill
Side note :
Lighted grill emblem on FL Avantgarde models don't come with D+ or Distronic either in other words you should compromise one of them

So, you lost your star. This is one of the stupidest designs for that it is easy to remove from outside of the car. There is no screw or anything in the inside side of the grille that would have to be removed for star removal. I have an after market grille with the star that is original MB star and it only has hooks that hold it in place. I used good 2-component epoxy to make sure you cannot remove it without breaking it.

May I suggest one thing for you. If you are going to buy a new star, like you probably will, consider replacing it with the Distronic star. In my opinion it looks better than the normal star with the mesh basket behind it.

Which ever star you get it can be bought from the dealer for a bit of money. The Distronic star is about $150, don't know the regular star cost but would not be surprised if it was about the same.

Part number A0008171016 for the star and part number A2188880060 for the black frame underneath. One is about $50 the other is about $20. Sucks!
