Problem with w212 sedan MY2010 - key turns, steeringwheel moves, engine doesnt start
I love this car but... It wont start!

My VIN is : WDD2120051A161320 - permalink to a decoded version: HERE
engine 2143
automatic shift with gear stick
Now the problem:
Got home closed car, came back after 2-3 hours got inside the car turned key in ignition nothing as in NOTHING!
-key turns all the way and comes back a bit even as it should do.
-steering wheel turns right and left all the way (engine not started, gear in parking and even if no key inside the ignition)
-plugs, battery, radio, windows, central locking all working perfect
-key in contact with no battery in the key turns all the way but didnt want to release the key, yes i forgot the gear in neutral
, got it back in parking got my key back as well. So thank God the ignition has connection with the gear.Is it the Immobilizer ?
Does this apply to me?
LI54.25-P-056472 NOV13 – 166, 204 (GLK only), 212, 218, 246 key is not recognized vehicle cannot be started and/or transmission shifts to “Automatic P”, replace electronic ignition switch (EIS).
I would really appreciate any suggestion, to avoid HUGE fees from an *authorized service
I have used search function and didn't found this problem at this car.
Thank you all, if it will be fixed the forum will get its post for others to see as it would be normal, so please post here suggestions not on PM.

There is no fix outside MB service, the problem was 2 sensors inside the device which cannot be opened and once taken off the car there is no solution to get it back in place, the screws that hold the device on the steering column have a way to make it useless (the locking device).
Problem solved by authorized MB service, 700 Euro(device+resynchronizing all the parts which are in connection with it), a lot of paper work, 2 weeks minimum the car will be unavailable to me, and I am not allowed to receive the defective component even if it is out of warranty(usually being out of warranty the right of property is valid in full to the user/owner and any parts of the car are my property.
The replacement of a component which is my property will have the same ownership like the one before and will not change the right of ownership on the defective part.
Now the interesting part for those who have the time, money, and a second car for day to day needs:
Get a lawyer, and get in court, under the statement of factory defective component.
In court there will be designated and expert to certify if the component can become defective due to improper usage or human intervention.
After this there might be a win situation, an expert named by the court in most of the cases will give favorable response to the user/owner, because the device cannot be altered or modified by the user in day to day usage like an engine that requires special liquid to keep the engine cold, as it was invented, the liquid is a component of a maintenance obligations to the owner and is a reason, but in our case there is no reason resulted from the user/owner.
This is what a person registered in Romania for expertise in mechanical and electronic devices being part of passengers auto manufactured/assembled by auto makers, and a lawyer, both told me it will be the best thing to do.
LE Admin if it is a case not for this side of forum, please move this post to Europe or right section. The facts and the car is in Romania.
