iOS in the Car
Since I plan on keeping my vehicle for a very long time, I hope I'm not buying in car tech that will be outdated quickly (when the iOS in the Car is available). If my 2013, will have the ability to integrate with iOS (even if it requires SDK), it will give me a sense of relief.
i'm not sure if this means the current COMAND units can be upgraded with iOS integration, or if the dash units are to be replaced altogether.
couple of my thoughts that would support a totally new dash unit:
* the current screen is really small compared to the competition and needs a freshening
* i have never known Apple to hand over SW alone, without some control over the HW (i suppose iTunes is an exception)
i would really hope for a SW solution, though - for those of us with the current unit. however, i don't really care that much either. i don't have any issues using my NAV or SAT radio.
EDIT: does anyone know if this integration is just something that takes your phone and extends a special application for in-car use?

disappointing if we have to use our data plans, instead of the already installed GPS equipment in the vehicle.

Update: my DKP failed and it is being replaced, should arrive from Germany around the middle of next month.

No where else can MB upgrade the technology in our cars like this? An update pushed to our phones can bring new features ... Ever try updating the hard drive maps yet?
Here is the info for v1.6 of the app: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/digi...518868239?mt=8
