Contact your insurance company, they will act on your be halve, even though there is no panel damage it is still classed as an accident IMO.

All of a sudden, the front desk associate only recalls the vehicle being towed which they covered ($75).
I'm still exchanging communications with Marriott complaints department.
Dealer called and said my vehicle was ready (discounted) total $1267 including tax.

Unfortunately without photo evidence or written admission it's your word against the Front Desk & Valet staff.

I'm not a litigious person; that said at this point I'd have my lawyer primed to be on them so fast they wouldn't know what hit them. A firmly worded letter to Marriot with the associate's name in it may spark their memory.

It is easy to see why we live in such a litigious society reading this thread. Phantom joy-riding, suggestions of how the failure occurred with no mechanical knowledge to sustain it, and suggestions to have your attorney on speed dial.
The dealer fixed it and should know what caused the problem. The valet service has insurance and probably more than willing to pay if it is their fault. They most likely have a contract to protect. Was the car getting stuck coincidental or did it cause the problem? Of course when there is twelve-hundred bucks plus on the line, some people don't want to know reality!

Lesson learned.
I called Marriott today and they were very understanding and helpful, they took my number I said they would call me back once they get some sort of resolution figured out. I believe they wanted to contact the Fairfield Inn... wonder how that went

I believe it's like a $90 filing fee for small claims. There should be a web site explaining everything for Ct. You fill out forms and have the party you are suing served. You can even do it by registered mail.

I will pick up my vehicle on Monday and fax them the bill for the power steering pump. It looks like the pressure from Marriott corporate is working

If it ever goes bad, add it towards the business review (i.e Yelp). Large corporations take those ratings very seriously. Just make sure place a review and not bash them because I've heard some businesses that can get back at you legally for defamation. Keep us posted on this!

I examined the vehicle thoroughly after the incident, aesthetically nothing was harmed. MB inspected everything that has to do with the power steering and they said it was good. They replaced the pump and now (hopefully) I am all set.

btw I have WAY MORE respect for the Marriott chain now that I see they've taken appropriate care of a customer.
If they were wise, they'd throw in a free two night weekend stay with a room service allowance to keep you happy, OR reimburse you also for your atrocious stay the last time (the time your car was "violated")

The owner of the car I missed stopped and thanked me for not hitting his wife who was driving broadside - their baby in the rear - couldn't thank me enough. She was just learning to drive, and had made a terrible mistake, he said.
The next day when I tried to get their insurance involved - right, you guessed it - they said they had witnessed a young man plow his car into a curb. Nothing more. This was part of my education - people can be weasels!
