silverstar Ultra question
Hi Guys, been doing some searching on upgrading my Halogens. Was planning to do a retrofit to HID which worked great my bike, but does not seem to be an ideal solution in the W212 halogen housing. Saw some mention of the PIAA Xtreme White Plus 4000K lasting longer. Do the silverstars really only last 9 months? That seems crazy.
Last question, should I also upgrade the fogs to a sliverstar if I go this route?
Thanks for any input

Installing the Morimoto HID was no more difficult that swapping your stock halogen bulbs for the Silverstar. Ballast and everything fits right inside your housing - no drilling.
A better option than Silverstar.

+1 on morimoto! They are quite inexpensive, and the amount of light they produce is 100 times better then the stock halogens. But don't go over 5000k, anything higher the light output goes down and it just looks way too "blue"

On another car I once had I could not get my sliverstars to even last that long. I called and complained and they pretty much said, oh well. Shortly there after I switched back.

owners deserve to get flashed constantly by oncoming traffic, and full on high beamed from cars they pass.
and the guy who designed the aftermarket HID kit deserves repeated nut-punches.
And go Sox!

As someone who drove a hockey player 100 highway miles/night, six nights/wk I can tell you there's nothing worse than an aftermarket HID kit in your rearview. If you don't swap projectors/housings, you're throwing light everywhere. I can spot aftermarket HID a mile away.
