Opening trunk with Keyless Go

Does the "keyless go" includes opening the trunk with your foot under the rear bumper? That feature doesn't seem to work with my car. I have a P1 package with keyless go for the doors and one touch closing of the trunk. Is it available in this particular package in MB or may be I'm not doing it right?

This feature is not available on E classes. I'm sure it will be in the future.

Sorry to disagree, but this feature works on my 2014E350 with this package:
389 KEYLESS-GO Package: Hands-free access, Electronic Trunk Closer,
KEYLESS-GO
I also believe that there was an early KeyLess-Go package that doesn't come with the handsfree access feature.

It doesn't work on mine as my car was an early production and this feature was to be available in the next production. I think it's a great feature but when I got my car in May 2013 it was not available.

How would I know if my car is the previous production version or not? I bought it in February 2014.

Only MBs - the best or nothing
I think it has more to do with a car having a "389 KEYLESS-GO Package: Hands-free access, Electronic Trunk Closer, KEYLESS-GO" than "early/late" production date. My car is a "late" production, but instead of the above package, it has two separate stand alone options - Electronic Trunk Closer, KEYLESS-GO - (no "hands-free access"option), so I can not open my trunk with feet (which would be very nice).

I have the same code, but I haven't try it yet. May be I need to explore her a bit more

When you say electronic trunk closer..Does it close the trunk with your remote or you touch the red button on the edge of trunk lid? I have the push button option but don't think it will close with remote key.

That is correct, I specifically delayed my build until June 2013 in order to get this option. I believe that the 360 degree camera feature was the other late-build feature I waited for.

Does VIN gives the info regarding when the car was built?

I think you'll find the build date on the label on the driver's side door sill.

I would have liked both of these options and I've seen them in action...both worthwhile especially the trunk one but I didn't want to wait lol

I didn't have to wait for mine and got it on both my previous Steel Grey (ordered 6/13) and now Diamond White(9/13). Weird. So is it after 6/13 that has these builds? That's still close to release date.

I ordered my vehicle around February 2013 for a May 2013 delivery

My '14 works but I haven't got the hang of wiggling my leg and or foot the right way every time to open AND close it. Pretty neat feature though.

It must work with an optical sensor. Mine has it and it worked when my car was new. It hasn't worked in a while, but it has been pretty muddy on the streets with our freeze thaw cycles.

Yeah i have it too but it is a bit temperamental. At times I cannot get it to work at all.

Indeed, it's a cool setup especially when you have a handful of groceries bags. Just stick my foot under the bumper and waalaa!!

My car was manufactured on 5/13. I guess I missed the upgrade.

I read the manual and it says to do a forward kicking motion. Works for me.

It really is a bit tricky/confusing the first time....I thought my car didn't have the "open with a kick" feature". Then I tried a fast kick standing directly behind the car, kicking forward (actually kicked the underside of the car by accident) and the trunk opened. Up until then, I had been trying to swipe from left to right under the rear bumper...that doesn't work. Hint: Wear old shoes the first few times you try the kick to open because if you hit the underside of the car by accident, the front of your shoe will get pretty dirty, potentially greasy.

I probably have a later build. I have 360 surround camera as well as keyless go....picked up from the dealer on Dec 1.

Thanks. I will try that way. I had found that a V pattern worked so apparently I was getting close.

I've got to find and read this manual thing sometime.
