Can anyone else with a 2010 chime in and let me know if your license plate lights are actually halogen bulbs or what they should be which is the new LED standard. I seem to be seeing some as bulbs and some as LED's Doesn't make sense. Anyone???

I'll have to try and remember to check. If you are seeing a variation, ask an MB tech or something maybe?

2010s were all incandescent. LED license plate bulbs were added later, I believe for MY12.

That's what my findings are leading me to believe. LED license plate lights did not become available until the 2012 model year. On Monday my MB tech is going to install the 2012 part number bulbs to see if work as well as confirm that there is no error message on the front display. I thought price was unusually fair at $15.50 per bulb. With my luck the part number I was given is simply for the plastic cover that goes over the bulb. I should know by EOB on Monday. I'll wish for the best.

I found out the hard way that they switched to LEDs in MY12.. I was trying to install LEDs and dismantled my entire trunk panel and everything.. After 1 hour of trying to figure out how to switch out the bulbs, I realized that it was already LEDs.. I had the 2012 model, but it wasn't the AMG version though.
