Moving on up ...
As of 3:30 CDT this afternoon, I am no longer the proud leasee of an E350 ... Instead, I have made an unexpected switch to the CLS 550 shown in the accompanying photos. I thought I might get a little emotional in saying goodbye to my black beauty ... She has been a delight to drive for the last couple of years. However, accelerating the new beauty on to the Dallas North Tollway pretty much took care of any remorse.
So for now, I say goodbye ... But I'm not moving very far away. And who knows, I might be back someday

Yes it is ... It's a designo color, magno alanite grey. I kind of fell in love with the color on a CLS 63 AMG that was on the showroom floor. Couldn't afford that, but I'm am thrilled with what I got.

LOL, I have two kids (9 and 15) but it was my 2 year old chocolate lab that made me actually steer away from the CLS (no middle seat) and buying an older MB with no warranty was the another reason.
I haven't seen one in that color and matte finish.

My dealer had the CLS 63 AMG on the floor in this color ... I was really drawn to it except for the price. Turns out that Jordan Spieth the golfer bought it just before I went in to look at the less expensive versions ... And the dealer had one with the same paint. I was done ... And to think I started off thinking I was just going to get another E-class.

I have always loved the CLS styling and it has been copied by nearly everyone else. I believe it is being discontinued in favor of the S class coupe but I could be wrong about that. Does anyone know for sure?

Beautiful car, but it looks more like Manganite Grey SHAPE (code 795) rather than designo Alanite Grey MAGNO (code 044)?

That new CLS indeed is a gorgeous vehicle. It is one of the most beautiful of all MB models, if not the very most beautiful.
In my opinion it is amongst the 10 best looking cars of all cars on the road.

Cls550 is sweet... I'm driving a 2014 loaner cls550 now, it grew on me for sure... Handles so well
Nice color.... The matte is interesting for sure ... In sport mode this thing handles like it's on rails! Has the clunky trans my e has, but not as frequent

It is the Magnol Alanite Grey ... Probably the lighting makes it look darker. The dealer's website called it silver, so I didn't even really realize what it was. I went in to look at a cardinal red car, and saw this one close by. Having lusted after the AMG version on the floor in this color, I was hooked. Fortunately, my salesman really wanted to sell a car ...
