Audi A4 question
Hi guys, I know it's not a Benz question, but wanted advice as you guys seemed to know a lot...looking at a 2005.5 Audi A4 3.2L for my son. private sale very very clean car, and well taken car of. Seller works for BMW, and takes care of the car himself. He was about 50... Car had been sitting a month, and had engine noise for about 20 secs, then cleared up and ran very smooth. He said it was due to sitting a month...it was obvious it was sitting, and said daily or weekly use you wont here it....subsequent start ups were fine and the test drive was fine, lotta power and very smooth. The 2005.5 is face lifted and he really likes it. 96k miles loaded heated front and back seats, leather is perfect, no door dings or scratches, which is amazing.....$8600 about $650 under clean trade in. Thoughts? Thanks much

Small Sample Size, but if it is as clean as you say it is... price is a steal, more so if the tires are decent

Thank you, appreciate the look up. Guy seems pretty straight up, and feel like if he was trying to hide something he would have warmed up the car prior to our arrival
...let me tell you from looking at cars in that price range, there is a ton of crap out there.. Even after sitting you could tell it was very well cared for...we went thru it every switch and bulb worked..very few swirl marks in the black paint, which is a bonus...Thx

Thanks! Not a mechanic and dont want to put him into something thats gonna be an issue..its his cash, but hes looking to me..rut row

Ok, now,
If the car sits for a long period of time oil drains down from the engine to the pan. When you start it you may hear some noises BUT NOT FOR 20 s IF EVERYTHING IS FINE WITH THE ENGINE. 3 - 5 seconds would be fine.
Sorry to be so negative with this but if it made noises for 20 seconds after start I would walk away from it no matter how fine it looks. Replacing that engine is not cheap.
