40K mile service changed by MBUSA (tranny fluid change no longer required)
I am not a MB dealer or such, but I did buy my 2 pk at 42k and my "40k" service came up at 44k on my dash counter so the $1200 service was done at 44k for me. I think it has to be 3-4 days before the service. So you can not go to the finance and buy the "pack" and then go to service the same day etc. But once its in the netstar, I doubt anyone checks any of that.

BTW, the 2010 "E" trans. change is every 4 years or 40,000 miles whichever comes first, supposedly.

I guess it's different here in Canada.
My dealer quoted me $$610.00 for the Service B + $460.00 for the Tranny service.

Oddly, MY10 sheet (posted earlier in the same thread) shows plugs on 272/273 at 8/80k. Not sure why it changed for MY11.
The same post has the MY13/14 sheets that show the same intervals for the newer V6 and V8. MY 12 is earlier in the thread and shows 6/60k also.

I had the tranny service done at the dealer for $325, included a check of the 4Matic components as well while they were under there.
I think that MB service and their rates are pitched to the $1000 per hour lawyer. Or doctor or entrepreneur, etc.
I think MB tends to rip off their customers, but then don't all luxury brands ?
My experience with MB Manhattan in NYC supports my conclusion.
And since they have so many customers, if you aren't happy, they would rather you take a hike.
Sounds cynical, but sadly I think that is exactly their way of operating.
Does this begin to sound like a guy who has owned Mercedes Benz cars off and on for 50+ years and who may be on his last one ?

My 7G+ was shifting rough at the 1-2 shift so I took it to the dealer to look at it. After 4 weeks of following MB corporate instructions to tear down further and further, they finally identified the "B" bands which are on 4 month (or longer) backorder. Local dealer convinced MB to do a NEW transmission and torque converter, which is on the way, so that I wouldn't be without my car for 5-6 months total.
So with a 70000 mile service interval on the 7G_+, the next service on my NEW one will be when I am at 116,000 miles on the car.

I've been in a loaner car so long, my wifes boss commented to her that she finally got her car back. She had to point out "Uh...my car is white, not blue".
