beep sound

I do not drive a lot but I almost have 600 miles on the car since December 2013. I do not know why my car lets out a beep sound every once in a while. I am not near any car and there is no car in front of me and none along side or to the rear of me. I am usually excellerating when it does it. I thought it was to warn me I was excellerating to fast with an object in front of me but there was nothing in front of me this time when it did this. Does anyone know what this beep is? Thanks

Happens, but rarely, with my 2011 E550 P2 + all the extra stuff.

Sometimes with Jersey barriers, sometimes with shrubs too close to the road, some times with no conceivable reason.

I wonder if sometimes a big bug flies right at a proximity detector and the car worries about it.

Thanks With the warm weather it may have been a bug. As long as I know it is normal I will not worry. Thanks again

I haven't gotten an unexpected beep in a while, but today my alarm went off for no apparent reason.

The car was parked in the driveway, no one around. Maybe a bird hit it? Maybe it was lonely?

On the plus side, I did get a text that my alarm was going off. Guess that feature works.

I had no idea that you get a text when the alarm goes off. I learned something new.
