2010 W212 E550 Airmatic lowering
I've bought my E550 a few weeks ago and have already done little mods to it. I'm looking to lower it, and have searched this forum and the other big site for the washer method. I couldn't find any detailed info, but grasp the concept that it's as simple as putting some washers over the sensor stud and relight ending. I'm mechanically inclined, but cannot figure out which sensor and which stud!
There is a sensor in the wheel well that I would imagine is for the airmatic system, however I don't see a stud holding it on- or any way of bending it to trick the computer. Has anyone done it on an E550? I've included some pictures. If someone can tell me if I'm on the right track it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Honestly, I can't answer your question for **** lol, but I can tell you that they sell lowering links for our cars for like $250. They are adjustable and way safer than using washers. Plus, it's dirt cheap in comparison to having to replace springs and shocks on non-airmatic cars.

Just get links.. way easier , front ones you dont even have to take the wheels off.. rears you have to.. and the only tricky part is to make them even.. it was a lil bit time consuming to adjust them to be even on each side and the height I wanted (atleast for me) , so you might have to play with them , I hated to take the rear wheels off each time. Now all good tho , happy owner. (Youll like the handeling after lowering it )
Good luck.

I just remembered that if you have a buddy that has an SDS running in Developer Mode, you can adjust the settings in the Airmatic control module to sit lower, don't expect it to be dumped, but it can sit lower.
