2010 E350 OBD2 Port Location

While doing a "B" service on my 2010 E350 I forgot to reconnect the "U" shaped metal clip that is on the rear of the air intake after I had replaced the air filters. In any case now I have an "engine on" light on the instrument panel. I have an OBD2 reader and I'd really appreciate it if anyone knows where the OBD port is on my car and also, someone told me that a regular OBD2 tool won't fit into the port and that MB has its' own type of plug. Any help from one of you folks out there would be appreciated. Contrary to popular belief among the masses, not everyone who owns a M-B is rolling in dough and I'm a DIY type anyways and I'd rather spend $100 on parts to do the service than have the dealer give me a good cleaning as they wanted $500+ to do the same service that I did myself for less than $100. To all who reply, thank you for your help.

2014 E550-sold 😩
The standard reader has to fit. When I go for my smog check they certainly don't plug in a MB specific code reader. It's under the dash near the steering wheel.

They don't do that type of smog check whereI live, but of course your answer makes complete sense. Thanks for your answer.
