Transmission jerks when cold

I understand there is a firmware update for fixing the jerking between gears 1 and 2 and 3 into 4. My dealer Motor Werks in Barrington says it is normal. According to Bulliten L127-19-P056 it is a noted problem and can be fixed. Does anyone out there have the same problem?

How many miles do you have on your car? After one time, it does not do that jerk?

IMO this can be fixed to be better than it is now.

I took my 13 E350 Sport Wagon into Hoffman Estates MB (where I bought it) for the 15K service. They performed an ECU update that corrected to clunk and wham of the tranny when in low speed traffic and when slowing to a stop. I don't mind driving in E mode now that they have made the improvement. I have a pretty good relationship with my salesman and service manager, they work on both of my MB at Hoffman. Give them a call and ask for Jason in service and describe your issue.

Unfortunately, I don't know exactly what they did to correct the situation.
And, on occasion, like when flooring the car in S mode to hustle on an entry ramp, there is still a hesitation. I remedy that with the paddle downshifts to hold the lower gear.

Dealer does not know root cause of the problem related with cold temperature. They probably did so many things that they do not know what caused some change they made.
They will have to work with MBZ factory and or wait until MBZ has come up with real fix!

dbldpr,
There are people having problems even at around 14,000 miles. I am pretty sure MBZ factory is aware of it and they are working on it very hard. You just have to play it cool and wait until they come up with true software update. After all with Name like MBZ, their name is involved.
Obviously, it is very tricky issues. This problem will show up in all 7 speed automatic trans based on inputs from other members. I have confidence in MBZ.
