Wheel and Tire warranty
1) do I need a warranty? I read that these wheels get bent easily.
2) does anybody offer a better one than the dealer?
I declined in both 2010 and 2014. In my fifth year of driving on low profile 18" AMG style sport wheels I have caused minor road rash to the edge of a rim a couple of times. I have read on the forum that some drivers have taken advantage of the insurance multiple times and have gotten their money's worth.
I reside in an area with bad Winters and potholes that still haven't been repaired as of this date. Some potholes here are capable of swallowing children, small adults, and an occasional Buick.
Negotiate ... They told me non negotiable but they will and u don't have to get always from the stealership you purchased the car from. I bought car from Delaware Benz dealer and tire warranty from Illinois dealer

The first Winter (last) my E hit a pothole and burst a Winter tire + cracked the O.E.M. Rime and had to be towed to an M-B dealer which was arranged by M-B Roadside Assist. A new Rim + tire was replaced without question.
Total cost of the tire+rim was over $780.00 plus the tow charges. I still have 4.5 years coverage so I think it was worth it for me.
I had the same coverage for my previous ML350BT which also had a bubble on one of the tire within a year from hitting a curb. That cost around $500.00 as it was a 20".
Just read the fine print, some are tire limited, so if the tires are 60 months old they will give you 20 bucks for a new tire.
