Does the iPod interface provide power to the attached iPod?

It reported that it could not work because the iPod had a dead battery. I will try again after a full charge. Thanks.

my ipod nano died after a good 5 years of service while in my E, might be time for a new ipod.

For my 2011 E550, I had to get a software update to get it to charge the iPod.
