Parking Assist

I've got a new 2014 E350 and I've been using parking assist to park in parallel spots but I don't know how to activate it for the right angle parking and for exiting parallel spaces. The owner's manual doesn't states that it's capable of executing these functions but it doesn't say how to activate it.

Can someone please enlighten me?

Parallel patking exit: put the blinker on and put the car to D. On the small screen you will have the option for the car to exit on its own. Hit OK.

Right angel park: engage the blinker on the side you are looking to back in. You need to be close to this side other wise the car does not detect the parking space. Usually 3-5 feet distance work for me. Of course this results multiple maneuvers to back in as you start out pretty close.

The blinker is the part I was missing. Thanks.

I tried it out yesterday & almost hit a huge concrete pillar.
park assist was not not breaking, so I had to.

oddly enough the parking radar started beeping like crazy & the lights went into the red...

Seems the 2 systems are not connected at all?

Seems parking assist is only helpful in wide spaces... where I do not need help...

I did not know the E did perpendicular parking. CLS does that too?

I used the park assist for the first time over the weekend. Pretty cool and gets very safely near the curb. The only thing I didn't really test was the brake assist; I feathered the brake myself. Maybe I'll have a bit more confidence to do so next time.

one note thing to note is that if the edge of the road has dif texture to the main road, as well as a different curb. You will get parked at the texture change.

Does that make sense?

Don't think the perpendicular parking works on the 14' CLS and only on the E class

Almost crashed my 2014 gl trying to do a perpendicular park. I can verify it only has parallel parking abilities.
